Vick fired a shot at Atiku and Dele Momodu in the 2023 division review.
Nigeria News NalinLere Olayinka, senior special assistant to public communications and social media of the Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, accused Ovation Magazine magazine publisher Dele Momodu of supporting former vice president Atiku Abubakar for financial reasons.
In a statement released Wednesday, Olayinka described Momodu as “Fairweather’s friend”, who was loyal to Atiku only because of economic welfare and accused media entrepreneurs of stopping currency flows and would quickly abandon the former vice president.
“We heard all of this voices from him because Atiku paid the bill. Let Atiku stop payment and OGA DELE MOMODU will hand over to the next victim,” Olayinka said.
Olayinka responded to Momodu’s recent claim to the withdrawal of the Labour presidential candidate Peter Obi, which Olayinka dismissed, saying it was unfounded.
“Only people like Dele Momodu, who knows nothing but his stomach, would claim that Vick drove Peter Obi out of the PDP,” he said.
Oreka further accused Atiku of being a separatist in the PDP, claiming that the former vice president has undermined the party’s efforts since 2003, including its unsuccessful victory at Lagos State University.
“Atiku has been a weapon against the PDP because he was frustrated with the party’s efforts to win Lagos State University in 2003,” he said.
He also questioned Atiku’s sincerity about calling for the appointment of a Southeast presidential candidate ahead of the 2023 election, noting that Atiku had obtained the PDP’s presidential interest form before the zoning committee concluded its work.
He said: “Dele Momodu claims Atiku wants PDP to send a candidate from the Southeast, but conveniently ignores the fact that Atiku has declared his own interests.”
Olayinka cited the exports of major PDP stakeholders – including former DG Senator Gbenga Daniel and Atiku’s 2023 campaign partner Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, evidence of internal dissatisfaction with Atiku’s leadership.
“Is it Vick who asked Senator Gbenga Daniel, the director general of Atiku’s 2019 campaign, left the PDP just two weeks after the election? Was it Wike who asked Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa to leave the PDP?” he asked.
He added that former Akwa Ibom Governor Udom Emmanuel, who chairs Atiku 2023’s campaign for chairman, and his successor Umo Eno, are also estranged from the party.
“The question is, why do everyone who worked closely with Atiku in the 2019 and 2023 elections let him go after it? Because it can only be because someone is a person who is alone,” he added.
Comments on the comments that worked with Atiku’s spokesman Paul IBE and Dele Momodu were unsuccessful when submitting this report.
The MOMODU line was closed, and the call to IBE did not respond. The message sent to both parties has not been returned yet.
