Wizkid has set up a new career milestone on the digital streaming platform Spotify, with his highly acclaimed album More Love Leave Mey Ego.
Afrobeats Superstar Wizkid continues to dominate the global music industry as his album More Love, Lys Ego officially surpassed 250 million streams on Spotify. This milestone further cements his legacy as one of Nigeria’s most influential artists.
More Love, Less Self-displays Wizkid’s signature sleek sound, mixing the influences of Afrobeats, R&B and Amapiano. The album features outstanding tracks like “To Me”, 2 Sugar, Ayra Starr and “Money & Love” quickly became a fan favorite. With guests from international and African stars like Skepta, Don Toliver, Shenseea and Naira Marley appearing, the project expands Wizkid’s global appeal while still staying true to his roots.
The album became Wizkid’s fourth album for over 250 million Spotify Streams, produced in Lagos, the sound on the other side and Ayo achieved the feat. This also made Wizkid the second Nigerian artist to reach this milestone with at least four albums, while Burna Boy led five times.
Although the less ego still resonates with fans around the world in addition to more love than Lagos’ production, despite being a more laid back and experimental project, it proves that Wizkid’s influence and artistry remains unparalleled. As the numbers continue to rise, the Big Wife continues to consolidate his position as one of the largest global idols of Afrobeats.
