- A viral X (Twitter) exchange sparked debate after a user questioned why some women give up a good life abroad for men back home. Another user shared a story about a woman who left a French business school for Akure’s love but later struggled.

A heated discussion erupted on X (formerly Twitter) after a user questioned why some women gave up affluent lives abroad and returned home because of relationships.
User @Ooreoluwaaaa sparked the debate, asking:
“How did you leave Toronto, Canada, and go back to Iwo Jima with the men? Are you okay?”
In response, @Steadi_Lady (Oiza) shared a personal story about a woman she knows who made a similar decision.
“A woman I know left her business school in France and returned to Akure because a man forced her to choose between him and her life there. I can’t even begin to describe how difficult it has been for her since then,”he wrote.
Another user, @Rene_noire, also made a scathing comment:
“Let me guess, she is in her thirties?”
Oza confirmed,
“Yes. It’s a long story.”
The exchange reignited discussions about the sacrifices women make in relationships, especially when choosing between love and career advancement abroad.
