
A farmer identified as Jesus lost his wife Abosede and drowned when the canoe transported them to the destination of the Erekiti River in Lagos State.
According to journalist Deji Rambo, the farmer and his 25-year-old wife did some work on the farm on Sunday, March 30, 2025.
To get to the farm, the couple boarded a canoe that conveyed their destination through the Erekiti River.
After working on the farm, Jesus, his wife and 17-year-old sister son Mary boarded another canoe to transfer them back, but the canoe tilted on its way to the destination.
A source told reporters that while in the river, the farmer swam out and in the process, he rescued his wife’s sister. ” A source told reporters.
CSP, spokesman for the Lagos State Police Department, confirmed the story on Sunday, April 6, saying efforts are still underway to locate the body of the wife of Jesus Christ.
“According to the report, teams of marine police and local divers are mobilized for a search and rescue operation. Efforts are being made to restore missing agencies. Investigations are underway.”
