‘Women are adult women’ – UK PM Keir Starmer finally breaks silence on Supreme Court’s gender ruling

Keir Starmer broke the silence on the landmark gender ruling when welcoming the Supreme Court’s ruling, calling it much-needed clarity. When asked if he believed that trans women were women, he replied that a woman was an adult woman. Starmer said in his address to the BBC, I welcomed the Supreme Court’s ruling, which gave us clear, much needed clarity, and I think it’s a more obvious position for those who are now developing guidance. Therefore, I am glad that the court has now clarified the post. We can move on from there, and I think it’s very helpful and I welcome that. Nearly a week after the Supreme Court ruled that women were defined by biology, the pressure to react directly has been intensifying. He has not commented on the death threat to female athletes in the recent trans-rights protests. Equality Secretary Bridget Phillipson said the government has performed well in welcoming the ruling. She is expected to address the parliament later. However, some Labor ministers have expressed their hesitation in private. In the private information obtained in the press, Sir Chris Bryant, Minister of Culture, agreed with a member of Congress, criticized Baroness Falkner, head of the Commission on Equality and Human Rights, who said the ruling would not be possible to join women’s restrooms or compete for women’s class athletes for you to compete for women’s ministers. Downing Street confirmed that this would not be disciplined, saying ministers did not try to undermine the ruling. She added that schools will receive more guidance on children who support gender issues, highlighting the importance of child well-being and clarity to school leaders. According to her, legal protection of single-sex spaces is crucial due to the ruling. Speaking on the BBC Radio Today program, she noted that many businesses have already offered a universal or private compartment arrangement and reiterated that the services should be accessed based on biological gender. She highlighted a wider range of issues, including the provision of hospital space, rape crisis centers and women’s shelters (long-term involvement in accommodation and safety). She welcomes the Supreme Court’s confirmation that such services can be restricted based on biological sexual conduct. Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch also welcomed the ruling and condemned recent protests. Badnoch said that in response to placards that included death threats to writer and campaigner JK Rowling, a group of transactiveists waving the death threat to women was not a protest against incitement to crime. If the law is not enforced, we do not have equality, we have two layers of justice. It’s time for Labour to stop on the side of these extremists. Former labor donor Rowling wrote on X, continuing Kemi Badenoch remains the only political leader in the UK to provide women with clear solidarity. “Women are adult women” UK Pmkeir Starmer finally broke his silence on the Supreme Court ruling, first appearing on the Linda Ikeji blog.
