Ndubuisi Nwobu, former chairman of the Anambra People’s Democratic Party (PDP), condemned the minister of the federal capital’s territory minister Nyesom Wike, in which he publicly supported President Bola Tinubu.
In an interview with reporters at AWKA on Thursday, he said Vick was timid in refusing to leave the party.
He asserted that despite his public support for the Tinob administration, Vick lacked the courage to formally join all Progressive Conferences (APCs) by formally joining all Progressive Conferences (APCs).
He said:If Vick is enough, he will get an APC membership card. I firmly believe he is a coward and insists that he remains a member of the PDP when he supports President Tinubu. What kind of contradiction is that? You cannot claim loyalty to one party while promoting the interests of the other party. This is not how political integrity works. ”
He further noted that during Vick’s tenure as governor, he played a disproportionate influence on the PDP, acting as a partisan change and determining who emerged in a key position.
“At that time, Wike did everything as if he was helping the party, but now it’s clear that he has ulterior motives. He cultivated loyalists in the party structure, especially in the NWC of the National Working Council. His behavior seemed to defend the interests of the party, but he laid the foundation for his personal political ambitions. ” Nwobu said.
He added that Vick’s lingering influence made it difficult for the party to take discipline against him, as many of his loyalists still occupy strategic positions and act as protective buffers.
“He is actually taking root when he pretends to work at the party. From the President to the Secretary, most former NWC members attributed him to him. Even now, he still maintains their loyalty through financial inducement, which is why it is difficult to confront it head-onHe added.
However, he noted that efforts to retake the party from Vick’s control have begun.
“We have dealt with the State Secretary and he has gone out. Others will follow. The position of state secretary is crucial in any political party, and the removal from such a strategic office will help restore the integrity of the PDP,” He added.
NWOBU revealed that the NEC meeting of the National Executive Council is scheduled to be held in May, during which the NWC decision will be approved. A national congress will be held afterwards, and new leadership capabilities are expected to emerge.
“With the emergence of new leadership, the political chemistry of taking part-holding hostages will be eliminated. Wick’s undue influence will eventually be rooted. ” He said.
