‘You are a greedy money monger and a liar’ – Pastor Abel Damina slams Korede Komaia

    • Pastor Abel Damina criticized Pastor Kored Komaia’s remarks about disobedience to poor pastors.
    • Damina accused Komaia of promoting materialism and greed, which he believed contradicted Christian teachings.
    • He described Komaiya’s views as embodying a poverty-driven mentality.

Pastor Abel Damina, founder of Abel Damina International Ministries, has publicly criticized Pastor Korede Komaia after a video circulated in which Komaia said he would never give in to a poor pastor.

In response to this statement, Damina accused Komaia of encouraging materialism and greed, arguing that this view contradicts the core message of Christianity. He believes this quote reflects a poverty-driven mentality and believes financial status should never be used as a criterion for spiritual leadership.

Damina further claimed that Comaiah misled believers by associating wealth with spiritual authority, emphasizing that the gospel was rooted in godliness and contentment rather than material success.

He also recalled that Komaiya once experienced financial difficulties and had support from ordinary people, but now seemed to exclude priests who were not well-off, even though they also benefited from similar donations.

The criticism intensified when Damina challenged Comaea’s interpretation of Proverbs, stating that the book contained primarily human wisdom and observation rather than doctrinal teaching. He emphasized that the Bible values integrity and honesty more than wealth.

Damina believed it was better to live honestly and humbly than to deceive the congregation with a prosperity-focused message. He warned that preaching centered on material wealth undermined the dignity of the pulpit and distorted the true nature of Christianity.

This is not the first time Pastor Damina has questioned widely held religious views. In January 2025, he sparked controversy by claiming that smoking and drinking were not inherently sinful in Christianity.

In April 2025, he again spoke out against Pastor David Ibiyeomi of Salvation Ministries, who claimed that Jesus hated poverty. Damina disputes this claim, noting that Jesus never condemned the poor but was closely associated with them, further reinforcing his rejection of prosperity-driven teachings.

@Ajieson12: “Christians should prosper in order to be able to spread the gospel. Zechariah 1:17. Anyone who advocates that Christians should be poor is evil and false.”

@zoeymetax: “Omooo, this one is totally gbege o. Pastor Abel Damina is really swinging, calling Pastor Korede Komaiya greedy, controlling, etc. Church drama level: Maximum!”

@GlobalGENDARY: “There is no difference between them. They are both businessmen. The only difference is that one is greedier than the other. But they are both in the same business field.”

@ChukwuSancti: “I don’t know what to say here, but if you have been to Pastor KK church in Warri, you will go home and think that God does not love you and will not bless you as a poor or middle class person. He always said that if you do not give God heaven and earth, you are not his child.”

@Roughdiamond_04: “These pastors don’t care about godliness and contentment, they care about brainwashing you and making fun of your money.”

@dat042architect: “Fake pastors are everywhere!!! We should seek the Kingdom of God first and all things will be added to us! But these money pastors say no, it’s money money money. Pointless outdated content! That guy doesn’t look like someone called by God to me.”
