Labour governor longs for Anambra’s 2025 governor election, John Nwosu condemned Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s attack on Christian missionary on the market.
Naija News Governor Sorudo reportedly faced a missionary at Ochanja Market on Saturday to preach to marketers.
Sorudo told missionaries that he was causing noise pollution and fined 500,000
“If you want to preach, go to church. Those who want to hear will come to you; you can’t force people on the market to hear your message.
“It’s a market, not a church. You’re breaking the law. You can’t take over the public space and turn it into a church. Otherwise, you’ll be charged for using this space.
“You will pay 500,000 because we can’t allow it. We ban speakers on the market due to noise pollution, which will affect people’s eardrums. You can’t force people to listen to your sermons. We are suppressing fake pastors and prophets in Anambra.” He said.
In response, Labour Chief, NWOSU reminded the governor that the state has more pressing issues to pay attention to.
He noted that Christian missionaries were within the constitutional right to allow freedom of speech and religious freedom. NWOSU told Governor Soludo that he cannot regulate religion.
“There is a popular video where Governor Charles Soludo is working to preach missionaries in the market. The government should have more urgent governance issues to be solved. Freedom of speech and religious freedom allow anyone to claim or promote their beliefs as long as it is not harmed to society.
“The dressings of this window are presumably intended to protect the quality of life, which is an overdo. Will Governor Sorudo stop praying weekly in various markets? The state cannot regulate religion, and apply to individuals engaged in religiousization to the church and mosques,” he said. He said.
