Nollywood star Biodun Okeowo, popularly known as Omoborty, has threatened legal action after a man publicly accused her of being a thief following a property post she shared on social media.
According to Naija News, the dispute arose after Okeowo uploaded a video on Instagram advertising a piece of land, incorrectly listing the property’s price at £50 million. Attentive followers pointed out that actress Biola Bayo had previously listed the same plot for £40 million.
A person with connections to the film industry reportedly called Okwo a “thieves agent” in a comment. The accusation prompted a strong reaction from the actress, who asked the commenter to come up with evidence to back up his claims.
Okwo warned that she would pursue his example of not knowing the real owner of the property and that she would pursue what she called baseless and damaging accusations.
She said: “The man sitting next to Jaiye Kuti aunty just called me a thief. On the property, he doesn’t even know the real owner. I’m going to use you as a scapegoat. Otherwise you have to prove that I am a thief.”
