    • A young man was electrocuted while repairing power lines by Ashaley Botwe, with a disturbing video of the incident sparking reactions and condolences online.

According to reports, on January 20, 2026, a young man was electrocuted while trying to repair a faulty electrical wire at the Asali Botway School junction.

@elorm_hood shared a disturbing video of the incident on X, showing the man’s lifeless body hanging from a telephone pole as onlookers struggled to knock him down.

The harrowing footage has attracted widespread attention and sparked grief online.

There are reports that he was working on electrical wires when the fatal electrocution occurred, but it is unclear whether adequate safety measures were taken.

The deceased has not yet been identified, and social media users continued to express shock, condolences and questions about his professional status.

In other news… Controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola popularly known as “Portable” has once again caused a stir on social media with his bold statement about his place in the Nigerian music industry.

In a viral video currently circulating online, the Zazoo Zeh singer has confidently compared himself to Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, insisting that no artist is greater than him.

While highlighting his influence and success, Portable dismissed the superiority complex of other musicians in the industry.

    In his words:

“I am a newborn Fela. If you say you are older than Fela, then I am older than you. No one can hit me.”

The comments were made during an ongoing online exchange between Seun Kuti, Wizkid and Wizkid FC members.

As expected, the video prompted mixed reactions. Some fans praised his confidence, while others felt the comparison to Fela was unnecessary and disrespectful.

One social media user responded, “This boy is so bold.” Another added, “Portable never disappoints.”

Portable’s comments continue to divide opinion, once again proving his ability to stay at the center of online discussions.
