    • Patrick Doyle criticized Labour presidential candidate Peter Obi.
    • Obi’s clothing choice for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the festival’s Agbada choice when condolences to Benue State.
    • The visit was a response to a tragedy, with more than 200 people killed in Yelewata.

Veteran Nollywood actor Patrick Doyle has publicly criticized Labour presidential candidate Peter Obi’s recent comments on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Obi expressed disapproval of Tinubu’s clothing choices during his condolence visit to Benue State, a festival of Abada, who recently killed more than 200 people in Yelewata. The former Anambra governor questioned the appropriateness of Tinubu’s outfit and the tone of his visit, which showed a lack of empathy.

Doyle responded on Thursday via Facebook post, acknowledging that Obi consistently played a role in keeping leaders accountable, but argued that politicians’ rhetoric began to appear “boundary neurotic and downright trivia.”

    Doyle wrote:

“To Obi is an honor to be a consistent critic of the Tinubu government, but some of his criticisms are marginal neurotic and downright trivia.”

@olachi ejiogu-okeiyi: “Mr. Patrick Doyle, in what way? People line up in the rain to celebrate the arrival of the President, not mourn the serious losses they all suffered.

@Amire Adewale Abiodun: “Thank God, we still have Obi, and if not properly cared for, Nigeria gradually slips into a party system, OGA PAT.”

@Tracy Ogor Eru Lillian: “Sir Obi will never be like the arrogance and selfish failure we’ve seen yesterday…he stopped for the campaign dinner. Please.”

@kingsley Uluocha: “It’s a pity that people with such clean and impeccable certificates regret the simple charge of fostering willingness to get much needed assistance.”

@emma Okafo: “Let others criticize the big syntax you just posted too.
