    • Residents have been in a state of tension after the recent clashes in Ondo State.

    • It is said that Nigerian police and people from the Amotkun Legion must have clashed, resulting in a shooting.

Residents cheated for safety after a clash between the Nigerian police station and the National Security Network Agency.

The conflict was reportedly due to the security company’s arrest and detention of suspects.

The source added that shortly after, police from the Scorpion Department arrived at the Omotokounmour office and demanded the suspects to be released to them, and they refused.

The matter escalated quickly, resulting in gunfire in the air and the use of tear gas cans.

Since then, the suspect was forcibly occupied by the police.

The incident caused normal activities of panic and destruction in the state capital Aragbaka area when residents fled in fear. Some Amotekun agents were allegedly injured during the standoff.

Police Public Relations Officer PPRO confirmed the incident, Olayinka Ayanlade said.

“In this case, Amotekun personnel and accompanying individuals were accompanied by criminal suspects and exhibits in a disorderly manner, and during the injuring of police officers.

“After that, Police Chief Endo State Command CP Wilfred Olutokunbo Afolabi immediately directed the tactical commander to resume the suspect and the exhibition.

Subsequently, the suspect and the exhibition returned to the police in the spirit of inter-agency cooperation after intervention and dialogue led by commanders of the two agencies.

“However, it must be noted that, although the matter was resolved friendly, some of the victims who were dissatisfied with the release of the suspect began to launch sporadically into the air.”
