Niger coup: 'This is not our war, don't let the US and France take advantage of you' - Oji Kalou warns President Tinubu

Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has said the 2027 presidential election will be a “one-man contest”, declaring it to be “Tinubu vs Tinubu”.

Speaking in the National Assembly, Senator Abia North insisted that there is currently no strong opposition to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of his re-election bid.

Kalu compared the situation to the recent Anambra elections, when Governor Charles Soludo won with little resistance.

He maintained that the APC still enjoys unwavering support across the country and commended Tinubu for his leadership policies which he believed were beginning to stabilize the economy and improve security.

“Does he have anyone to run against him? This election is Tinubu versus Tinubu… Our party is completely down to earth and with the people,” he said.

His comments sparked reactions across the political spectrum, with many seeing them as a bold move of confidence in the president’s prospects in 2027.
