A series of recordings between controversial Nigerian singers Portable and Saida Boj have surfaced online detailing their negotiations for a music feature.
Audio shared by Instagram blog @wahalanonetwork shows Saida Boj asking Portable for a fee to be featured on her upcoming EP. Portable initially quoted £10 million for the feature.
Saida Boj revealed that the song was written for her EP and she told him she couldn’t afford the price. “This song is not for social media chasing. This is serious business. This is my song. I’m making an EP and I need you to be a part of it,” she said.
Portable eventually reduced the fee to £8m but insisted on his value, claiming his contribution could transform her career. He said: “My poems can change your life. I’m a big deal. You’re talking to a star. Before you go too far, you’d love to star with someone who has a future,” he said.
Saida Boj, known for her sharp answers, retorted, emphatic: “Man, everyone has a future. You’re interested in music,”.
