    • A recording of a conversation between singer Portable and social media personality Saida Boj has gone viral, revealing the content of negotiations for a music feature.
    • As part of the deal, Portable initially asked for £10 million to appear in Saida Boj’s upcoming EP, but later reduced the fee to £8 million after Saida Boj said she couldn’t afford it.
    • Portable defended his price by insisting that his poetry could be a huge boost to her career, while Saida Boj countered by stressing that everyone has a future and acknowledging his place in music.

A series of recordings between controversial Nigerian singers Portable and Saida Boj have surfaced online detailing their negotiations for a music feature.

Audio shared by Instagram blog @wahalanonetwork shows Saida Boj asking Portable for a fee to be featured on her upcoming EP. Portable initially quoted £10 million for the feature.

Saida Boj revealed that the song was written for her EP and she told him she couldn’t afford the price. “This song is not for social media chasing. This is serious business. This is my song. I’m making an EP and I need you to be a part of it,” she said.

Portable eventually reduced the fee to £8m but insisted on his value, claiming his contribution could transform her career. He said: “My poems can change your life. I’m a big deal. You’re talking to a star. Before you go too far, you’d love to star with someone who has a future,” he said.

Saida Boj, known for her sharp answers, retorted, emphatic: “Man, everyone has a future. You’re interested in music,”.

See some of the reactions below:

Anthony Makinde, “Portable confidence 💪 needs to be learned. Brother always believe in yourself”.

Michael wrote, “😂😂😂 Daddy go complain about you. Even though I’m a big shot myself, I’m a star too”

Kelvin asked: “Don’t feminists have 10m?”.

“Follow me so that in the future you can have Lines dey blêd for your portable mouth,” says Babalina.
