The Jigava State Police Command has arrested a 20-year-old man, Muhammad Salisu, allegedly a machete in the Guwaran local government area of Jigava state, allegedly his father, Salisu Abubakar.
Commander’s spokesman, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, confirmed the incident in a statement on Monday, May 5, 2025, saying the suspect attacked his father with a machete, causing serious injuries to his shoulders, neck and chest.
Adam said the incident occurred around 10 a.m. in the quarter of Bakin Kasuva in Sara District.

“So the said father was injured on his shoulders, neck and chest.
“After receiving the report, Sara and his patrol subdivision police were mobilized and rushed to the scene.
“The victim was evacuated to the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Birnin Kudu for medical care, but unfortunately, a medical doctor on standby confirmed his D3AD. The body was later released to a relative for burial.
“At the same time, the suspect was arrested and the exhibition has been restored.
“The chief of the CP Jigava State Police Department of PSC Abdullahi directed that the case should be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, DUTSE for a cautious investigation.
“After the investigation is completed, the suspect will be arraigned in court to face the full weight of the law.”
