Abdoulaye Doucoure confirmed his free agent at the end of the 2024/25 season.
The French midfielder confirmed his withdrawal from Merseyside club after sending an emotional message to Everton supporters. According to him, he would regret that the club would create a club five years after the moment they shared with the fans.
He said
Five years later, my time at the club has ended. I’m sorry to leave, but I think it’s time for me and the club’s news film. Everton means a lot to me. It has been difficult for the past five years, but I will always remember my dream of playing for the club. I will miss the fans and the club. I just want them to know that I’ve been giving everything and always be proud of wearing shirts and Goodison Park. I hope they all go well in the new stadium. I will always be blue. ”
Doucoure scored 165 goals for Everton after signing about £20m in 2020 at Watford.
Everton has not yet addressed the future of other contract participants, such as Idrissa Gueye, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Michael Keane.
