In other news,… A recent TikTok exchange between influencer Peller and a Nigerian woman serving in the U.S. military sparked widespread discussion about the wage gap between local uniformed workers and their international counterparts.

During the live session, the soldier spoke candidly about the financial benefits of her role in the U.S. military. She highlighted the benefits, which include extensive life insurance.

“If something happened to me right now, my mom would receive a $500,000 severance package.” She revealed calmly, leaving Peller stunned for a moment.

She also shared her retirement plans, explaining that she plans to return to Nigeria and enjoy a lifetime pension. “Once I retire, they will pay my salary for life,” she added.

The woman further mentioned that even the lowest-ranking officer in the US military earns at least $5,000 per month. “Imagine earning $5,000 a month as the most junior official, let alone the chief official,” she said.

Peller seemed shocked by the numbers and jokingly considered a career change. He even asked if it was still possible for him to enlist, noting that such an income could be life-changing.

When he tried to defend the wages of Nigerian police officers, the soldier just smiled and shook his head, refusing to make the comparison.
