Canada’s new Prime Minister gives off a “cool dad” atmosphere when dancing after elections (video)

    Canada

Canada’s new Prime Minister Mark Carney has been all the rage for his relaxed celebrations after his historic election victory, with his video dancing after his victory painting comparisons to “Cool Dad” and symbolizing a wider range of national pride and rebellion.

Carney’s optimistic behavior comes after the amazing election results, and many consider sharp condemnation of U.S. President Donald Trump. Donald Trump’s provocative remarks, including calling Canada the “51st state”, reportedly implying annexation, becoming a flashpoint during the campaign. Trump’s tariffs on Canadian goods and inflammatory comments have inspired Canadian voters and fueled a wave of nationalism, which has greatly changed the political landscape.

Public sentiment in Canada responded sharply to Trump’s actions to broadly resist American products and compelling protests, such as the announcement of the U.S. national anthem at a sporting event. These expressions of national pride contributed to support for Carney and the Liberal Party.

Initially, conservative leader Pierre Poilievre was seen as the leader in the 2025 federal election because the public was frustrated by the previous liberal government. However, his campaign was undermined by the growth of nationalist sentiment and consistency with Trump-style policies, including proposals to refund and reduce foreign aid to the CBC.

As Trump’s rhetoric intensifies, many Canadians gather on Carney’s centrist platform, seeing it as a stable alternative. The election ultimately brought a surprise victory for liberals, dealing a personal blow to Poilievre, who lost his long-standing Carlton seat in Ontario, becoming Canada’s first major party leader to lose his campaign in Canada since the 1993 election.

Despite his loss, Poilievre said he intends to continue as a conservative leader. Meanwhile, Carney’s celebratory dance has become a defining image of the consequences of the election, capturing the comfort and reconfidence that many Canadians feel as they change global dynamics.
