The result means Nigeria is fourth in Group C of the CAF qualifiers, trailing the South African leader by 6 points after six matches. Only the highest side of each group guarantees a place in the finals in 2026, and the September clash with Bafana Bafana is crucial to Nigeria’s hopes.
