Nigeria’s rapper, actor and activist Folarin Falana (commonly known as Falz) has once again spoken about the country’s ongoing challenges, expressing frustration at the slow pace of Nigeria’s development in 2025.

In a recent interview with HIPTV, the outspoken artist lamented that despite the passage of time, the country is still struggling with basic infrastructure such as electricity and proper drainage systems. He described the situation as embarrassing and unacceptable.

“The biggest thing is actually the output of electricity. It’s still crazy. In 2025, we’re still dealing with NEPA,” Falz said whenever electricity is restored in Nigerian houses, it is mentioned that the well-known shout of excitement is a long-term symbol of the country’s unreliable electricity supply.

He also solved the problem of poor drainage system, saying: “Any little rain like this, we have to swim. It’s shameful.”

Falz shifts focus to the entertainment industry, describing it as “Crazy,” Explained that while thriving creatively, many of these work struggled spiritually. He highlighted the growing demand for dialogue around mental health, noting “Everyone has a certain degree of madness, it’s just different.”

A lighter feeling, This is Nigeria Crooner shares a personal story about an embarrassing heartbreak. He recalls organizing romantic dinners for those he admires, only asking her to reject him in the evening. “I thought we were on the same page, but obviously not.” He admitted.

Falz also looks back on the early days of his career, recalling how people initially attributed their success to his famous father, human rights lawyer femi. “Even though, I blew. I gave myself a name. Now, when people see him, they say, ‘Falz’s father,'” He was joking.

The interview with Falz has since raised dialogue on long-standing challenges in Nigeria, including infrastructure issues.
