Former rescuer morgue manager agrees to plead guilty to stealing and sell human body parts

A former Harvard Medical School morgue manager who has been charged with stealing and selling the bodies and other parts of the bodies to a school of medical research and education, has agreed to plead guilty.

Cedric Lodge, 57, of Gofston, NH, was indicted in June 2023 and charged with stealing and selling heads, brains, skin and bones of bodies that were donated to the university, prosecutors said.

Rocky and his wife Denise allegedly sold the body parts to buyers in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts and shipped them to customers via postal service, who in one example intended to tannate their skin.

Cedric Lodge, who has managed Harvard morgue for more than two decades before his arrest in 2023, agreed to plead guilty to the transstate boundary transport of stolen goods, which was filed in a plea agreement in a federal court in Pennsylvania in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday, April 16, said the company could sentence up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

The remaining allegations of conspiracy and transport of stolen goods will be removed.

Although his trial was scheduled to be held in May, no hearing on his plea changes has been scheduled.

The expected request change comes a year after Denise Lodge, 64, was charged with transporting body parts to buyers, pleaded guilty to assisting and teaching tontertate to theft in April last year.

Rocky worked at Harvard for about 28 years before being fired in May 2023.

In addition to bringing body parts to his home, the Lodge also allowed potential buyers to enter the school morgue to pick what they wanted for humans.

The corpse is intended for educational, teaching or research purposes and is donated to the medical school through the Anatomy Gift Program.

Outside the hotel and the hotel, four other defendants were indicted at a federal grand jury in Pennsylvania for alleged conspiracy and interstate transportation.

One of the allegations is Katrina MacLean, 44, of Salem, Massachusetts, who owns a store on Peabody called Kat’s creepy work.

According to court documents, McLean transported the human skin she purchased from Lodge to another defendant and “hired his service to make the leather.”

Another federal charge faced is Joshua Taylor of Syra Vaughan Burks County. Prosecutors said he sent $1,000 to Denise Lodge via Paypal, with a memorandum that read “No. 7.” Another $200 deal from Taylor to Rocky is said to be “Braiiiiinins.”

After the allegations emerged, family members who donated their loved ones’ bodies to medical research spoke about their horror and were concerned about the possible remains.

“We just disgust,” Paula Peltonovich’s father’s body donated to the school, who told Boston Globe in June 2023. “Sick, just like we want to vomit.”

Sarah Hill’s Christine Eppich’s aunt gave her her body through an anatomical gift program, and he also told Boston 25 News that she felt “ill” about the ordeal in June 2023.
