‘I thought I would get married when I was 21’ – 40-year-old woman blames past mistakes for not being married

    • A 40-year-old woman has gone viral after sharing a candid video about her regrets about not getting married as planned.
    • She blamed her current situation on some decisions she made as a teenager, which sparked mixed reactions and debate on social media.

A woman in her 40s is sparking discussion on social media after sharing an emotional reflection on her life, unfulfilled marriage plans and the personal choices she believes have shaped her current reality.

In a viral video circulating online, the woman opened up about her expectations growing up, revealing she hoped to get married in her early twenties and give birth by her late twenties. However, she admits life did not unfold as planned.

Talking about her current situation, she said that she is nearly 40 years old, not only unmarried, but also not in a relationship. According to her, decisions she made early in life, especially as a teenager, continued to impact her chances of settling down.

She admits that some of her past mistakes have had lasting consequences and says that may be why she has trouble finding a partner willing to marry her.

Her honest confession sparked mixed reactions online. While some viewers praised her for taking responsibility and being self-aware, others were critical, questioning her choices and timing of reflection.

In other news… Social media commentator and influencer VeryDarkMan has continued to publicly criticize Afrobeat superstar Wizkid, accusing the singer of repeatedly undermining the legacy of the music legend and veteran figure in the Nigerian music industry.

In a recent comment shared online, VeryDarkMan opined that Wizkid has not contributed enough to society to prove himself to be on the same level as iconic figures such as the late Afrobeat pioneer Fela Anikulapo Kuti. He described Wizkid’s recent comments comparing himself to Fela as inappropriate and insensitive, claiming they failed to reflect public sentiment.

According to VeryDarkMan, Wizkid’s comments allegedly encouraged some fans to disrespect Fela’s legacy, which he said was deeply disturbing given Fela’s cultural and social impact outside of music.

The influencer further claimed that Wizkid has a recurring pattern of downplaying the achievements of industry pioneers. To back up his claim, he cited past internet incidents involving Mavin Records boss Don Jazzy. VeryDarkMan claims that Wizkid subtly fired Don Jazzy by retweeting comments that disparaged the famous music executive as an “influencer.”

He insisted the actions were not isolated but reflected wider attitudes and urged Wizkid to show greater respect for those who laid the foundation for the industry.

VeryDarkMan said Wizkid did not surpass Fela in terms of social contributions and accused the singer of deliberately “testing the waters” before making comments that could trigger backlash and disrespect for the music legend.

“Wizkid doesn’t talk about Fela any less than I do. Contribution to society? Get out, he’s not. A lot of them can’t even lace my boots. He started a pattern and after testing the waters, he decided to try again. That’s why he decided to do this to Fela. Sadly, Wizkid didn’t read the room before he decided to do this to Fela, inciting his followers to insult Fela Kuti’s name.

What is this pattern? Wizkid likes to play down the legacy of his predecessors. Let me give you an example: Don Jazzy. Wizkid said it’s not appropriate to talk to people who are contracted to influencers. And then another guy now asks, do you want to talk to Don Jazzy? Wizkid retweeted it. Then another person said Don Jazzy is an influencer and Wizkid retweeted it. “
