I will use the formula used by Buhari to fight corruption in Nigeria – Tinubu

Former President Muhammadu Buhari celebrated the 73rd birthday of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, highlighting their long-standing political relationship.

In a phone call on Friday, Buhari extended his congratulations and prayers for Tinubu’s longevity, health and successful leadership.

In a statement, Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, noted that Tinubu played an important role in the formation and success of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Buhari acknowledged the support given by Tinubu and other party leaders during his tenure as president after repeated defeats.

He described Tinubu as “a staunch supporter of a political party, a passionate activist, a skilled organizer, a builder, a loyal ally and a consistent winner in democratic elections”.

“The chronicle of this country would be incomplete without recognizing the diverse roles played by President Tinubu – as an entrepreneur, a party stalwart, a committed activist, a party organizer, a party builder, a reliable ally and a serial winner of democratic elections. I am truly proud of my association with Asiwaju,” Buhari said.

“When Nigerians handed over leadership to the APC in 2015, it was on a mission to lay the foundations of a new Nigeria, giving the poor a chance to build a better future. I am glad that this vision has not disappeared. This is a victory for all who want the country to prosper,” he added.
