The Independent National Electoral Commission has resumed continuous voter registration operations across the country, marking the beginning of the second phase of the process.
The INEC Chairman’s Chief Press Secretary, Adedayo Oketola, who confirmed that the reinstatement measures came into effect on Monday, January 5, simply stated that the information was correct.
The move follows the conclusion of the first phase of the CVR, which officially ends on December 10, 2025.
INEC had earlier launched online pre-registration for the exercise on August 18, 2025, followed by on-site registration at designated centers across the country on August 25, 2025.
In a statement released in December, the commission revealed that 9,891,801 Nigerians initiated the online pre-registration process in the first phase. Among them, as of November 28, 2025, 2,572,054 people have completed registration nationwide. Among them, 1,503,832 people registered online and 1,068,222 people registered in person.
