Rio Ferdinand Manchester United football idol at Liverpool idol, Jamie Carragher beat his recent comments on AFCON, AFCON, Championships.
Carragher sees AFCON as a big tournament after a 2-0 victory at Liverpool Premier League in Premier League Manchester City on Sunday.
Egyptian captain Mohamed Salah continues his amazing performance this season and assists Dominik Szobozslai against the city in Etihad.
Speaking at Sky Sports, Carragher suggested that Salah’s nationality and Egypt’s lack of success in the World Cup could hinder the winger’s win over Ballon d’Or this year Opportunity.
Carragher said: “I think the problem is [is] The fact that he is with Egypt, I probably didn’t compete in a big game [AFCON] So, or there is a great chance of winning,”
The comment caused a stir on social media, with the African football ruling agency CAF condemning former players.
In the latest episode of Rio Ferdinand’s gift reaction, Ferdinand branded his former England teammate “The Ignorance”.
“I think that comment represents most of the people out there. I think that’s wrong,” Ferdinand said.
“I think it’s an ignorant thinking process because if you go to Didier Drogba, Abedi Pele, Samuel Eto’o, and now players like Riyad Mahrez, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, they’re going to tell you: Win this!”
“In their country, winning this is a requirement. Yes, it won’t be supported like resources like euros, but that doesn’t mean you have to devalue.
“It is a huge continent, a continent that contributes a lot of European football through huge, large numbers of players.”
