The Osan State government responded to calls from federal attorney general and attorney general Prince datef Fagbemi to suspend the upcoming local government elections in Osen State on Saturday.

Naija News Recalling that Fagbemi Stopped the process The elections for local governments will take effect immediately.

The AGF said in a statement issued Thursday that the legal position clearly demonstrates the development of friction between all Progressives Congress (APC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Fagbemi said the court revoked the governor’s order to fire the local government elected chairman of the government.

But in the statement Naija News Late on Thursday night, Governor Orson’s special counsel on legal matters, Nurudeen Kareem said the judgment to fire the former LG chairman remains, upheld and bound until it is overturned by the High Court with proper jurisdiction.

He called on AGF to Wadav. Bello (2016) 17 NWLR PT 1542 433 has a clear judgment on the Supreme Court’s ruling, which confirms that both the courts below and above must comply with the orders that judge the court hierarchy.

Karim said:We thank the Honorary Attorney General of the Bible of the Federal and Attorney General, SAN, SAN, for their valuable insights on the judgment of the PDP and the APC case regarding the 2022 OSUN local government elections.

“While we respect the AGF’s position on PDP litigation, we believe it is necessary to emphasize the ongoing relevance of the App v. APC case, especially given the Federal High Court’s ruling in FHC/OS/CS/103/2022, which is of paramount importance Important. Subsequently, the Court of Appeal was upheld on January 13, 2025.

“We firmly believe that the judgment made by the Federal High Court in FHC/OS/CS/103/2022 on 30 November 2022 remains, upheld and bound until it is overturned by the High Court with proper jurisdiction. This principle It has been well established in legal precedents, including the Supreme Court’s judgment in Wadav. Bello (2016) 17 NWLR PT 1542 433, which confirms that the orders of the judgment court hierarchy of all courts must be followed.

“In view of the importance of this judgment to the integrity of our election process, we would like to urge the AGF to provide clarity on the matter. Osun and the wider Nigerian population are eagerly awaiting his opinion, which we believe will Helps to gain a deeper understanding of the legal landscape around these elections.

“Thank you for your attention to this pressing issue.”
