Lagos Parliament denies 27 APC lawmakers defected to Labor.
Nigeria News Nalin It was reported that the Lagos State Capitol had opened rumors of defection by 27 members, from dominating all progressive Congress APC to opposition Labor LP.
House Information, Strategy and Security Committee Chairman Ogundipe Olukayode said the story is incorrect.
According to him, this misleading and “false story should be ignored by the public.”
“These incidents are by no means recommended to members to leave the party. We stress that there is no ambiguity that any member of the assembly is considering defection.
“We are elected under the leadership of the ruling party. The ruling party remains united and focuses on delivering its mission to the people of Lagos State. The falsehood of spreading stems from destabilizing agents who try to create unnecessary in parliament Tension and division,” said the parliament.
Rumors have been said that APC House members found Solace in the LP, but the congress added that the rumored defectors aimed to “sow discord and confusion within the conference and among the good people in Lagos.”
Recall that armed security personnel from the Nigerian police force and the State Department DSS attacked the temple earlier this week.
They allegedly stopped there Mojisola Meranda, the newly elected spokesman, and were not allowed to enter the conference until a few hours later.
Meranda finally presided over the plenary session and felt tears flowing down her face as the MPs loyal to her voted on her confidence.
The state legislature is involved in a leadership that is described as the mother of all the political crises currently occurring in the country.
It all started with the election of Mudashiru Obasa as the president of parliament and Melanda.
Obasa insists that his removal did not follow due process to challenge the process.
However, the Lagos Parliament insists that no external forces are involved in leadership quarrels.
