Man beats his second wife on Bauchi's food to D3ATH

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested Alh Nuru Isah, a 50-year-old businessman, allegedly assaulted his second wife for food to the state’s Fadamam Mada area.

The headquarters spokesman CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil revealed this in a statement on Sunday, March 2, 2025, saying the incident occurred during a family dispute, which occurred in response to the handling and designation of food ingredients in Ramadan quickly destroyed the fruits of Ramadan.

According to PPRO, Isah beat his 24-year-old wife with a cane, causing her to collapse and lose consciousness.

She was taken to the ATBU Teaching Hospital where medical staff confirmed her D3ATH.

“On March 1, 2025, at about 11:30 00 pm, the Butch State Police Command was informed of the alleged homicide incident, near the Government Women’s College in Butchfadama Mada area,” the statement said.

“This unfortunate incident stems from a misunderstanding between 50-year-old Alh Nuru Isah, 50, a businessman at Bauchi Central Market and his second wife Wasila Abdullahi, aged 24, involved handling the processing of food ingredients and designated as a disruption of the fasting of Ramadan, which escalated to violent fasting, which was a fierce consensus.

“Preliminary investigations show that the suspect Alh Nuru Isah was accused of using sugar cane to attack his wife, which caused her to collapse and become unconscious within her marital residence. The victim was then taken to the ATBU Teaching Hospital, where medical staff confirmed her D3ATH.

“The Bauchi State Police Department has conducted a thorough investigation into the incident and arrested the suspect Alh Nuru Isah. The sugar cane allegedly used in the attack has been found as an exhibition and the deceased was placed in the autopsy procedure for placing the body.

Police Chief Auwal Musa Muhammad PSC Anpir has assured the public that ensuring justice remains a priority for the headquarters.

“Important reminder: Domestic violence constitutes a serious crime and can have devastating effects. Everyone has the right to live in a safe and secure environment. Overall, we can foster a community that prioritizes respect, compassion and understanding.

“The Butch State Police Commander reiterated his unwavering commitment to protect the lives and property of all citizens while ensuring criminals are responsible.”
