Muslim man facing woman eating on bus during Ramadan

A grand exchange unfolds in the public bus after a Muslim man was eating in the face of a woman while he was fasting during Ramadan.

The incident, captured in a viral video on X (formerly Twitter), shows the woman who asked her to eat while she stopped, claiming that he could smell her food, which would affect his fasting.

“Sorry, I can smell it. Do you mind eating it elsewhere? I fast. Can’t you wait until you get off?” Hear the man say.

However, the woman refused firmly, saying she was just having lunch and had no reason to stop.

    Respond to posts

The video sparked a wave of reactions, with many social media users sharing their views:

@marcanthony99: “Fasting is a personal commitment. If someone is trying to be around the food while fasting, they should rethink their approach. Respect is two-way.”

@Sadokchai: “If Muslims have problems with people eating during Ramadan, they should live in a Muslim country.”

@DR_Bellar: “I work with many Muslims and no one asks me not to eat around them. This person’s behavior is an exception, not a normal state.”

@atzebitcoin: “In Germany, diet in public transport is not usually allowed. It’s not about Ramadan, but basic behavior.”

@georgehclownwrl: “She is right. Society doesn’t have to change for other people’s religious beliefs.”

@neo306: “In London, eating on public transport is prohibited. She is wrong in eating on the bus, and he is wrong in using Ramadan as an excuse.”

The debate continued, with some arguing about religious tolerance, while others emphasized individual freedom in public places.
