    • NAF destroyed Boko Haram Hideout, the Central Army.

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) carried out a decisive operation, targeted air strikes, destroying the hiding place of Boko Haram, which is located within the terrain of the challenge of the Mandela Mountains in the Borno State.

The operation focused on the terrorist strongholds in Chikid and Dibwa, an area notorious for its radical activities.

The news was disclosed in a statement Tuesday, March 18, that the mission was successfully carried out, underscoring the accuracy and effectiveness of the air strikes.

“The goal of the night operation was to rebel enclaves deep in the dangerous Mandela Mountains, which brought a serious blow to the terrorist strongholds and disrupted their activities,” he said.

He described it as a bold demonstration of a firm commitment to eliminating rebellion in the Northeast.

“In a bold demonstration of air power and precise night war capabilities, NAF carried out a devastating night air strike on the terrifying hideouts of Chikid and Debewa on March 16, 2025.”

Mandara Mountains has historically been a shelter for Boko Haram militants, providing natural fortifications against ground attacks. Recent air strikes not only removed these enhanced enclaves, but also conveyed a loud message to NAF’s enhanced aviation capabilities and intelligence-driven operations.

NAF’s actions are consistent with a series of enhanced military efforts aimed at undermining the insurgent network in Borno State.

In January 2025, Nigerian troops successfully repelled a Boko Haram ambush in the region, resulting in 34 rebels, although six soldiers were tragically killed in the confrontation.

The ongoing threat posed by Boko Haram has led to many atrocities, including the massacre of at least 40 farmers in the Borno State Dumba area earlier this year. Such incidents have led the Nigerian army to adopt a more aggressive and targeted strategy against the insurgents.

NAF’s recent success in the Mandala Mountains demonstrates a critical advancement in the ongoing anti-enterprise movement. By destroying the operating base of Boko Haram, the military aims to restore stability and security in northeast Nigeria.

As NAF continues to leverage advanced aviation tactics and real-time intelligence, there is a new sense of optimism that the scourge of the Borno State can be effectively reduced, paving the way for peace and development in the region.
