Nigeria secured third place in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) on Saturday, beating Egypt 2-4 on penalties in a goalless third-place tie at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca.
The Super Eagles looked composed throughout the match and ended their tournament run with a hard-fought victory over Egypt a day before the final in Rabat.
Nigeria qualified for third place after losing to hosts Morocco in the semi-finals, losing in a tense penalty shootout after extra time.
