Teaching is a hard work, and some teachers will never be better than mediocre. They do their best to the minimum requirements and less. However, great teachers work tirelessly to create a challenging cultivation environment for students.
The excellent teaching seems to be related to our knowledge and skills, not our attitude towards students, disciplines and work. Although this list is of course not all -inclusive, I have narrowed many characteristics of a great teacher, and no matter how old learning, I found that it is the most important.
Nine characteristics of a great teacher
1. Great teachers respect students. In a great teacher’s classroom, everyone’s ideas and opinions are valued. Students can safely express their feelings and learn to respect and listen to others. The teacher created a enthusiastic learning environment for all students.
2. A great teacher created a sense of community and belongs to the classroom. The mutual respect of this teacher’s classroom provides a supportive cooperative environment. In this small community, there are some rules to follow and the work to be completed, and each student knows that he or she is an important part of the group. A great teacher asked students to know that they could not only rely on her, but also rely on the entire class.
3. A good teacher is enthusiastic, easy to contact, enthusiasm and care. This person is not only to students, but also to everyone on the campus. This is a teacher who knows that they can solve any problems or doubts, and even share an interesting story.
Great teachers have good listening skills and bring time schedule for anyone who need them. If the teacher’s day’s bad day, no one knows that the teacher leaves a personal luggage outside the school.
4. A good teacher has high expectations for all students. The teacher realized that her expectations for students greatly affected their achievements. She knows that students usually give teachers as much or less as possible.
5. A great teacher’s love for learning and inspiring students with enthusiasm for education and curriculum materials. He constantly regards himself as a professional to seek the highest quality education for students.
The teacher is not afraid of learning new teaching strategies or incorporate new technologies into the course, and always seems to be willing to share things he learned with colleagues.

6. A good teacher is a skilled leader. Unlike administrative leaders, effective teachers focus on common decision -making and teamwork and community construction. The great teacher conveyed this leadership awareness to students by providing a leader role for everyone.
7. A great teacher can “move Gils” and be flexible when the course does not work. The teacher evaluated his teaching throughout the course and found a new method to put forward materials to ensure that each student understands the key concept.
8. A good teacher and colleagues continue to cooperate. The teacher believes that her cooperation is a way to learn from her companions, not because she sought advice or help, she believes that she is weak. A great teacher uses constructive criticism and suggestions as an opportunity for educators to grow.
9. A good teacher maintains professional level in various fields-from personal appearance to daily organizational skills and preparation. Whether it is a student or a colleague, her communication skills are model. The great teacher’s respect for her professional way is obvious for the people around her.
Although teaching is a natural gift, others must work overtime to obtain a good teacher identity. However, for you and your students, the benefits are huge. Imagine that when students remember that they had a great teacher in college, they would think of you!
