    • National Chairman Maxwell Mgbudem presented the certificate in Abuja. Mbuden urged Falegan to form a grassroots campaign team that would emphasize the need to uphold democratic values.
    • The Accord Party has officially issued a certificate of return to Opeyemi Falegan, confirming him as the party’s candidate for the June 2026 Ekiti State governorship election.
    • Fallegan, in turn, criticized the current Ekiti administration as “the administration of ex-governors, ex-governors, ex-governors”.

The Agreement Party has officially issued a certificate of return to Opeyemi Falegan, confirming him as the party’s candidate for the June 2026 Ekiti State governorship election.

The speech took place on Tuesday at the Accord Party headquarters in Abuja and was chaired by the national chairman, Maxwell Mgbudem. After the party’s primary election on November 8, 2025, Fallegan became the standard bearer.

    Party expectations and campaign priorities

National President Mbuden congratulated Falegan, saying his victory was a testament to his resilience, integrity and political acumen. Mgbudem expressed optimism about winning the 2026 election.

Mbuden instructed Falegan to form a grassroots campaign team, emphasizing compliance with the party constitution and manifesto and upholding the highest democratic values. In particular, he said: “Campaigns should maintain the highest democratic values, morals and ideals.”

    Fallegan’s Promise

Felegen thanked delegates and outlined his campaign priorities, which include agriculture, education, youth employment and infrastructure. He pledged to reach 48,000 young people within four years and repair Ekiti’s main roads within six months.

Fallegan criticized the current administration, claiming the state is “the former governor’s government, the former governor’s government, the former governor’s government.” He promised to transform Ekiti’s economy by creating jobs and entrepreneurs.
