Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck and veteran singer Wande Coal both offer prompt advice to emerging music stars and warn them about the reality of the music business.

On May 2, 2025, Odumodublvck was in danger of signing early record company deals on X without adequate preparation, which sparked a conversation. The rapper just won his next rating win at the 17th Headies Awards, urging aspiring musicians to stay away from progress in the absence of complete career and artistry.

“Dear upcoming artist, stay away from progress if you know your music isn’t mature yet. You don’t want to owe the organization so much money. You’ll die a debtor,” He warned. Odumodublvck stressed the need for patience, effort and preparation before pursuing major deals or financial support, adding that rush to sign a contract can put artists in long-term debt.

Just one day later, on May 3, 2025, award-winning singer and songwriter Wande Coal echoed the same concerns in an article on his X page. In his message lover Crooner questioned young artists’ determination to sneak into the competitive music industry.

“Are you sure you really want to work in this music business? You have to be very sure Oooo.” Wande Coal wrote, suggesting the difficult, invisible struggle of glitz and charm in the entertainment world.

Odumodublvck and Wande Coal’s advice is to gain momentum in the Nigerian music industry in a conversation involving financial literacy, fair contracts and artist development. Since then, their message has spread, sparking debates between fans and creatives.

    Dear upcoming artist

If you know music is not mature

    Stay away from moving forward

You don’t want to owe the organization so much money

    You will die a debtor.

    Please note my suggestions.

Be patient and work hard until you are ready.

    please.
