Ekiti State Police arrested Jimoh Abdulrahman, allegedly assaulting his wife, Mrs. Akintunde Bidemi Taiwan, a nursing mother .
Jimoh was arrested on Saturday, February 15, 2025 after disturbing videos of the incident surfaced online.
Command spokesman SP Abutu confirmed the arrest in a statement on Sunday, February 16. The case has been transferred to the state’s Criminal Investigation Department’s gender-based violence department for a thorough investigation and subsequent arraignment.
“On February 15, 2025, at about 19:00 hours, the Ekiti State Police Department arrested Jimoh Abdulrahman, who severely attacked his wife, Taiwo’s Wife, Mrs. Akintunde Bidemi, Taiwan is a resident of the Nova region, Ado Ekiti,” PPRO said.
“After the release of prompts and disturbing viral videos, Commissioner Eribo directed the police in the department of Oke-ila of Ado Ekiti to take immediate action.
“Agents from the Oke-Ila department took the arrest quickly and the case has been handed over to the GBV department of the state CID for further investigation and legal action.”
