Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola (commonly known as portable), avoided three months in prison after choosing to pay a court fine of 30,000 in the attack.

The judgment was made on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 by Magistrate Babajide ILO, sitting in the District Court of Ifo, Ogun State. The portable person is guilty of two counts related to the physical attack incident in 2022.

According to police prosecutor, Inspector Olumide Awoleke, the incident occurred on November 18, 2022 at Okeosa in the Ilogbo area of the IFO Magisterial area at around 11:00 a.m. The singer, along with others who are still in the whole, has been accused of conspiring to assault an Osimosu Emmanuel Oluwafemi. The fee meter also claims that Portable and his associates stole studio equipment, including a Yamaha H55 monitor, interface cable and AKG P420 condenser microphone.

Although the court dismissed theft charge, the portable charge was alleged assault and illegal assault. He was sentenced to one month in prison, the first time he was sentenced to 10,000 fines, two months in prison, and the second time he was sentenced to 20,000 fines.

The artist was initially arraigned in April 2023 in Fee No./192C/2023 and has been granted a bail of 300,000 with two guarantors. However, he was remanded in custody last week after repeated appearances.

At Tuesday’s hearing, Portable chose to pay a 30,000 fine to avoid serving a three-month prison sentence, effectively ending the case.
