President Buhari today, February 7, spoke with the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, Aminu Tambuwal, the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, Atiku Bagudu and the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, on the issue of material shortages A closed-door meeting was held on one of the three naira notes.
The meeting held at the State House, Abuja, was also attended by the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa; as well as the Chief of Defense Staff, General Laki Irabor.
The meeting is believed to focus on how to resolve the crisis caused by the naira swap policy. The old N200, N500 and N1000 will cease to be legal tender by February 10.
No attendees spoke to reporters after the meeting.
