President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has postponed his planned visits to Johannesburg, South Africa, and Luanda, Angola, as he awaits a detailed security briefing on the abduction of schoolgirls in Kebbi State and the attack on worshipers at the Christ Apostolic Church in Isegun, Eruuku Oke, Kwara State.

According to a statement shared by his aide, Dada Olusegun, the President ordered the immediate deployment of additional security personnel to Eruku and the entire Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State.

He also directed the police to track down the robbers who attacked the worshipers.

Tinubu was scheduled to leave Abuja today to attend the 20th G20 Leaders’ Summit in South Africa and then travel to Angola to attend the 7th AU-EU Summit. However, a recent security breach prompted him to put his departure on hold.

The President is currently awaiting reports from Vice President Qasim Shettima, who is visiting Kebbi on his behalf, as well as briefings from the Nigeria Police Force and the Ministry of State Services on the Kwara attack.

Tinubu reiterated his directive to security agencies to prioritize the rescue of the 24 abducted schoolgirls and ensure their safe return home.
