Nigeria News Nalin It was reported that Natasha Akpoti-uduaghan, a member of the Senate District of Kogi, was suspended for six months on allegations of sexual harassment against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

The Senate Ethics, Privileges and Public Petition Committee recommends Natasha to be suspended on Thursday, March 6, 2025.

The committee noted that Natasha’s salary and safety details will be withdrawn during the suspension.

The committee also advises Senator Natasha not to be seen anywhere around the National Assembly during the moratorium.

Senate Ethics Chairman Neda Imasuen, who presented the committee’s report at a plenary meeting on Thursday, said Natasha was sentenced to all charges for not complying with the committee’s lawsuit.

Akpabio has been denying any misconduct, stressing his respect for women and refuting the claims that are unfounded.

Among those who spoke during the review of the committee’s recommendations was Abba Moro who begged for leniency and recommended a reduction in the six-month suspension.

He said:We argue that Senator Natasha’s six-month suspension will be reduced to three months when implementing these recommendations (proposals approved by the Senate), if the Senate and Mr. President are convenient. Three months are enough to restore the original state to a certain extent. ”
