Singer Bebe Rexha reacts to Azealia Banks' body shaming

Bebe Rexha responded strongly to online criticism after her appearance at the 2025 Met Gala and showed she had suffered a recent loss of pregnancy and called for greater compassion for women facing personal struggles.

The singer is the subject of harsh comments from rapper Azealia Banks, who criticized the appearance of Rexha in the distance. Banks posted: “Sis gives me – hormone contraceptive implants or something. It gives her an implant that needs to be removed/nuvaring or a depo shot that needs to stop happening (I didn’t even try to play her).”

Lexus didn’t let the comments get answers. She spoke directly to the bank, urging her to seek treatment or seek help for what she calls “entrenched sorrow and chaos.” In the now-deleted post on X, Rexha goes further, frustrated with ongoing scrutiny of her body and reveals for the first time that she has suffered a recent pregnancy loss.

She said she had taken the pain privately and stressed the need for compassion, especially when discussing someone’s appearance. “I’m experiencing the loss of pregnancy,” she wrote, highlighting emotional hurt and the stress of coping with public expectations and personal grief.

The post is both a battle of sensitivity and a confession to sensitivity, and Lexus reminds people to think twice before they can comment on anyone’s body, a message she has advocated throughout her career.

Banks, who did not compete in the Mets, launched a series of fashion criticisms on social media throughout the evening, targeting multiple celebrities including Cynthia Erivo, Chappell Roan and Doja Cat.
