    • A Nigerian couple’s wedding reception descended into chaos and a public fight broke out over a male guest.
    • The dispute started when the bride hugged a man whom the groom had previously warned her not to date.
    • When the groom confronted the bride, she responded angrily, insisting he had no control over her associations.

A Nigerian couple’s wedding reception was thrown into chaos after an argument over a male guest escalated into a public fight.

The play begins when a young man from the neighborhood arrives during the ball and the bride immediately jumps up and embraces him. The man was reportedly the same man the groom had warned his wife not to associate with.

After the man gives the bride a gift and leaves, the groom confronts his new wife, demanding to know who invited the man and warning her not to bring the gift into the home.

The bride shouted back angrily: “I am your wife, not your slave; you can’t tell me who to date.”

The argument turned physical when the groom slapped his wife, who retaliated by slapping him on the chest. The husband then calmed down briefly, but then left the reception angrily and did not return until the event was over.

The public showdown sparked debate online about who was right and who was wrong:

@KOlatunbosun wrote: “They are all to blame…The lady should not have responded rudely. She could have calmly explained to her husband.”

@felixwise added: “I blame them both for not bringing their relationship to a professional advisor who could have seen this coming.”

@iamEdoama quipped: “After seeing the video of their fight, I just want to know who will win!”.
