Veteran Nigerian dance hall star Timaya in a recent interview about his early career struggles and breakthroughs Afrobeats Intelligence Podcast Hosted by Joey Will.

According to Timaya, the deal seemed moderate today, which was a breakthrough and a major opportunity for him as an emerging artist eager to enter the competitive Lagos music scene. Timaya recalled the consequences of the album’s success and revealed that the marketers were so impressed by the performance of the project that he later gave him an additional $7 million to fund music videos and even gave him a car. “He gave me 7 million music videos and bought me a car. He said I’m a good market,” Timaya narrated it.
After debut, Timaya talks about the second album Gifts and grace Give him a bigger deal. He initially received 10 million offers, but another marketer, Abu VENTURES, stepped in and concluded the deal, reaching a staggering 24 million.
