    • Kunle Afolayan has dismissed rumors of rift with Ibrahim Chata, saying they are working together to protect Nigerian culture and heritage, not competing.
    • Speaking at the event, Kunle Afolayan stressed that he and Chatta were united in protecting the culture and heritage of their ancestors, insisting that there was no competition between them.

Nollood actor and film producer Kunle Afoalayan has denied rumors of competition with FELLOW actor Ibrahim Chatta.

The clarification was made during the viewing party of Anikupolo: The Ghoul Awakening held in Igbojaye, Oyo State on Wednesday, January 28, which was attended by Chatta. Celebrities such as kiekie, broda shagggi, papi luwe, sola kosoko and Gabriel Afoalayan also attended the event.

Speaking at the event, Kunle Afolayan stressed that he and Chatta were united in protecting the culture and heritage of their ancestors, insisting that there was no competition between them.

He said, “There is no competition among us. We are all doing everything we can to uplift the glory of all, not just our ancestors but our lineage and where we come from, from the roots. Afri Chatta, Oyo. If you haven’t been there yet, you should go.

“A lot of the movies you’ve seen, like ‘Ageshinkole,’ were shot at the Afri Chatta Resort and Film Studio. There was no competition! We didn’t even do the same thing. This was his first time here. I felt guilty even though I had invited him several times.”

Kunle Afolayan also spoke about his choice not to dive into Nigerian film projects, saying; “If I can’t get 10 million naira, I don’t want 2 billion or 1 billion movie box office.”
