    • Veteran Nigerian singer, 9ice has looked back on his early days in music, recalling producers ID Cabasa, Jahbless and 2Phat who were by his side during his rise to fame.
    • In the resurfaced clip, the Gongo Aso star said, “When I was at my peak, everyone was with me” while recalling his days touring on the Coded Tunes label.
    • His comments sparked discussion about the fleeting nature of loyalty and friendship in the entertainment industry.

Veteran Nigerian singer 9ice has opened up about his early years in the music industry, reflecting on how fame, friendship and success surrounded him with familiar faces.

In a resurfaced interview clip circulating online, singer Gongo Asu reflects on the golden era of his career when he dominated the charts and played sold-out shows in Nigeria and beyond.

“When I was at my peak, everyone was with me. Cabasa is with me, Jahbless, 2Phat – they’ve all toured with me,” 9ice recalls, recalling his energetic start under the Coded Tunes label.

He notes that throughout his rise to fame, his team — which includes producer ID Cabasa and fellow artists Jahbless and 2Phat — have always been a part of his journey, joining him on shows and tours that set the stage for his early success.

Fans responded enthusiastically to the video, with many praising 9ice for showing gratitude to those who have contributed to his success, while others pointed out that when the spotlight dims, it’s easy for human connections in the entertainment industry to disappear.
