Nigeria’s Super Hawks took a huge step after their victory over Rwanda as they worked hard to compete in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen ensured Nigeria’s Super Hawks started the game in the first half against Rwanda’s strut. The host has a half-time chance, but no one can find the back of the net.
World Cup Qualifiers: Rwanda vs. Nigeria: Team News
Nigeria has no history in the match against Rwanda as they have been unable to score goals against the hosts since 2006. The match between the two sides ended 1-1 with Obafemi Martins scoring the only goal in Nigeria.
The second half was much like the first one, as the Super Hawks didn’t have any chance to go to Rwanda during the game. This will be a moral booster for Nigeria as they host Zimbabwe in another must-win match that will be held at UYO on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.
Nigeria currently ranks fourth, 6 points behind South Africa, Benin and Rwanda, occupying third place respectively.
